5TH/6TH NOV 2005 HOME TO NORTHUMBERLAND WON 20-16 playing at home was no advantage as northumberland brought 72 people down to our venue for the game. It felt like an away match at times and the noise was overwhelming at times.
LADIES B WON 4-2 The ladies done us proud again this weekend and what better way to start off the county game with a 4-2 advantage. merseyside lost the first game with karen o'connor just losing 3-2 and she had chances. next on was Lyn Anderson who played awesome and deservedly earned L.O.M. with her 18.24 average. then Sue Dowell was next to the stage. sue won 3-1 (15.58). merseyside lost the next game but Esther Owens (14.18) and Janet Hardman (18.11) won the next two to give us the win.
MENS B DREW 6-6 The mens B done well to get a draw against a decent northumberland B team. good wins from Alan Kilroe (23.48) Alan Jennion (23.12) Joe Palfreyman who took the M.O.M award with a 27.33 average, Allen Whittaker (23.11) Steve Mcnally (26.84) and George McCormick (24.12).
LADIES A WON 5-1 The ladies A team done the whole of merseyside proud by winning by a huge margin. first up was Sue Alexander who got us off to a good start (15.49) then Karen Marsden played great darts to average 17.21. Next up was Mary McGovern who played excellent to record a 3-2 win and receive the L.O.M with a 17.26. Then it was Viv Cullimore's turn to win with a 15.49. Next up was Julie Whelan who scraped through 3-2 with a 15.69. last on was Michelle Jones who lost to northumberlands L.O.M Joy Wanless. Michelle's average was 16.50.
MENS A LOST 7-5 The mens A lost 7-5 but done enough to make sure we won the overall game. With the game standing at 15-9 to us we knew we only had to win 4 games to take the match. First on was Stephen Bunting who landed his first M.O.M of the season with a 31.10 average. Chris Kenny was next on and was unlucky losing out on the odd leg in 5. third up was Paul Cairnson who won 3-2 to average a very respectable 28.33. Ian Gleeson was on next and was eyeing a win but his opponent Davy Richardson had other ideas. Ian took the first leg in 19 darts and all was looking good, but then Davy went all out attack and went out in 13,14,15 to win 3-1 and receive Northumberland's mens A M.O.M with a monster average of 33.27. next on for Merseyside was Alan Green who started with a 15 darter and then lost the next two legs. Alan then went out in 18 darts to take the game into the final leg and his opponent Colin Dobson had the darts and started brightly. Colin just managed to scrape the victory from Alan in 22 darts after missing a few doubles. next on was Paul Hourihan who lost 3-1 to Ian Dawson with a respectable 26.23 average, Ian's average was 29.37. Next on was Mick Brooks who was unlucky to lose having had 3 darts at double top to win the game, Micks average was 27.92. Next on was George McCormick who was playing his first game for the Merseyside A team and the pressure got to him, George averaged 19.04 but he was playing a great player in Steve Wanless. Next on was Graham Parker who won 3-0 and averaged a good 26.84 average. next on was the oldest A team player at this moment in time Hugh Morrison who lost 3-1 and was unlucky missing doubles to go 2-2, Hugh's average was 24.73. Next on was Robbie Green who played excellent and went out in 17,15,20 to average 28.90 and record a 3-0 win. Last on for Merseyside was Andrew Howarth who played well to win 3-1 and record a 26.90 average. Overall Merseyside won 20-16 and what a result for us having lost the first two games too Somerset and Cleveland. We are rather relieved that we have a win now and will be going into our next game full of confidence.

unfortunatly we were missing vital players for are trip to cleveland. robbie green, joe palfreyman, lee price, john cunningham and lee palfreyman all could not attend. all of theese players quite capable of winning in the A.
LADIES B DREW 3-3
firstly the ladies B. first up was karen marsden who started the ball rolling for merseyside with a 3-1 win and a 16.05 average to get lady of the match. next up sue dowell winning 3-0 (15.99). merseyside lost the next two but esther owens won 3-2 (13.01)and pulled it back. last on for the ladies was karren oconnor who won 3-2 (13.24) to get the valuable draw.
MENS B LOST 8-4
merseyside lost the first two games of the mens but robbie ward (23.86) and paul hourihan (22.77) pulled us level. merseyside then lost the next four with alan 'doctor' jennions game being the best of the losers with a (23.99). other good games by allen whittaker (23.66) to take the man of the match and andrew howarth (22.86)
LADIES A LOST 6-0
not much to talk about here, sue alexander was the only lady with a chance missing six darts at double two for the match.
MENS A LOST 8-4
merseyside lost the first three but paul cairnson came up with the goods to average a nice 23.16. mick brooks was back too good form winning 3-1 with a 26.77 ave. alan green kept up his good form winning 3-1 beating kenny dobson averaging 27.56 to take the man of the match, kennys ave 27.10. chris kenny finnished the day off with a win and a 23.50 average.
man of the match for cleveland was glen durrant who beat hugh morrison 3-0 and averaged a great 28.90, well done glenn.
MERSEYSIDE WE MUST GET OUR ACT TOGETHER IF WE WANT TO STAY IN THIS DIVISION. COME ON LETS GET THE BALL ROLLING AGAINST NORTHUMBERLAND LATER THIS MONTH...
